Margo

In today's world as with the old world, life is not fair.
Everyone goes about it well, but for no one do they care.
So when a large disaster come, one would think it'd change
But it doesn't, and that is the world's biggest shame.
What is this disaster? Do you really want to know?
It's not aliens, but this disaster was done too many years ago.
This disaster is food, life's fuel for the person's core.
So what would one do if there were no food in the stores?
The answer, one would fight for survival, following their instinct.
Take any kind of food, eat it, and not even bother to make it distinct.
But they were hungry, and needing to eat was at the top of their list.
Unfortunately, to get it, one must learn to use their fists.
So the world became filled with chaos and despair.
And for a long time there was not a hero anywhere.
But then their hope, in the surprising form of a girl
There was not a rock she could not hurl.
Her name was Margo, a not-so-beautiful pedestrian.
Instead she was smart, and she wanted to lend a hand.
They new she was special, since her arrival at the homestead.
Her life was precious, so they made sure to feed her bread.
In her early years, she quickly learned to fight.
If she got hungry, watch out, she'd knock out your light.
Then she got older and became a teenager indeed.
She then began organizing a way to get people free.
Free from the life that everyone had to live.
And hopefully towards one where everyone did give.
But very few listened, for she was only a teen
They thought she was crazy, many were mean.
So Margo had to wait until she much older.
So that people listened to her for she was wiser.
Age only added to the effect that she gave.
When she spoke, people listened to what she'd say.
They knew she was ugly when she was young.
But they learned she strong and brilliant so her plan begun.
Day in and day out the work never once stopped.
Even for the blind, the deaf, and those who had to hop.
Work and work until society came into existence.
Life became good, for everyone learned to listen.
